Cosa pensate che ne sappia il neurone del cervello, lui si limita semplicemente ad inviare i suoi segnali quando viene sollecitato dalle giuste sinapsi.
Alle volte sono cortesi impulsi sporadici ai quali se gli va risponde o altrimenti ignora.
Quando arrivano invece combinazioni di complessità maggiore, la sua risposta è attentamente ponderata.
Succede spesso poi qualcosa di speciale, quando l’area cerebrale tutto intorno si mette ticchettando a risuonare, il neurone scarica sintonizzato con il ritmo, in un fantastico concerto di impulsi armonizzati.
Che poi questa sinfonia sia funzionale a qualche ineffabile attività superiore al neurone poco importa, nessun problema esistenziale, lui fa quello per cui è nato: scarica il suo segnale come sa fare. E questo gli basta.

Then something special often happens, when the brain area all around is ticking to resonate, the neuron discharges tuned with the rhythm, in a fantastic concert of harmonized pulses.
That this symphony is functional to some ineffable superior activity to the neuron does not matter, no existential problem, he does what he was born for: he sends out his signal as he knows how to do. And for him that’s enough.
